HOW TO USE GOOGLE ANALYTICS SITE SEARCH

Synopsis

Learn how Google Analytics and Site Search can improve content discovery and landing page relevancy for your online advertising spend.

Search Terms

Keywords entered by users when using your site’s search are useful pieces of information. From GA, you can see trending results on what customers are looking for. You can use this data to gauge interest on a particular product or service, or discover how much trouble it is for client’s to find what they want on your site

Start Pages

Start Pages indicate the page in your website where the user started realizing he was unable to find what they were looking for. This provides important clues to your team on whether or not certain pages could be tweaked to make the content or navigation more obvious so that those pages can be found more easily

Destination Pages

When a user clicks on a search result from your site search, that is called a Destination Page. Based on the search term they entered, together with the page you are redirecting them to, your team can also correlate and see the accuracy of your search results, and see which results seem to be more popular amongst your customers.
